Ball Yo Yos, Giant Water Balloon Fights, and Scary Monsters

I've not written for awhile, because basically I've wanted to do other things. I'm not going to lie about it. Two weekends ago was Mother's Day. Then last weekend we got to go up to Hickory for Casey's baptism. That was fun and exciting. Congrats Casey!

This weekend there have been lots of little fun things going on. Rob got the kids ball yo yos. These marvelous inventions wind themselves up, which means that the kids can do them. The are all good at it, except Jacob will pull up and the ball keeps hitting him in the head. Then he needs extra cuddles.

We promised the kids a water ballon fight, and we went and bought water balloons from Walmart. Theycame with a little valve thing to make filling them easier. They sucked! We broke our water filter with the stupid thing, and none of the balloons would fill up. So we resorted to using our giant balloons that the kids love to play with as water balloons. (The entire time I thought that this meant we would be throwing them at the ground.) Well Rob went outside and exuberantly began throwing them AT the kids. Knocked Caleb down flat with one. But then we started throwing them at the ground and the kids had a lot fun.

Yesterday they all drew chalk monsters on the sidewalk outside. Hopefully Rob will post some pics, since he used his camera to do it. It was cute. Beth did an awesome dragon all by herself. And Rob came out and acted scared of the monsters.

Well that's our weekly update. Have fun and take care!

We got some water balloons from Walgreens this week and they sucked too! I did managed to get some filled up by stretching them over the faucet, but over half of them broke trying. The ball yo-yo's sound fun!

Not to mention about 1/3 of them had tiny holes in them. I hope the Chinese water balloon factory doesn't make any latex products other than water balloons if you catch my drift =P
